Baked Pork Chops with Breadcrumbs
I wouldn't serve this to guests but it is easy and tasty enough for a week night meal.
Servings: 4 pork chops
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops, 3/4 - 1 inch thick rib or loin
- buttermilk or milk (buttermilk works better)
- Italian seasoned bread crumbs
Instructions
- Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 425°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup and insert rack.
- Trim any excess fat off edges of pork chops. In shallow bowl or pie plate add some buttermilk or milk. In second shallow bowl, dish, or pie plate add bread crumbs. First dip pork chops in milk, turning to coat both sides, and then bread crumbs, turning to coat both sides and edges. Place on a rack in pan.
- Bake approximately 30 to 35 minutes, thicker pork chops will take longer. Instant read thermometer inserted in center should register 145°F; pork chops will be golden.
Notes
Pairs well with any type of potato and steamed vegetables.
