A basic sugar and water combination that is good for decorating cookies. It could also be used for writing on cakes.
- 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 2 tablespoons water
- Combine sugar and water. Stir well with small whisk or rubber spatula until even in consistency and there are no lumps. Add just enough water so frosting can easily move through a frosting tip inserted in a pastry bag and so frosting is not runny and will hold its shape. If simply spreading frosting over entire cookie, a thinner consistency will work best.
