French Vinaigrette

This is a basic vinaigrette that is perfect for simple green salads.

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 6 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons canola oil


  • In a small bowl, add all ingredients except oils. Whisk to combine. Gradually whisk in oils to emulsify vinaigrette.
